In 1920s Italy, Latvian theatre director Asja Lācis and German-Jewish philosopher Walter Benjamin meet on the sun-drenched island of Capri. A radical artist and revolutionary muse, Lācis challenges Benjamin’s ideas, sparking an intellectual exchange that leaves a lasting mark on his thinking and cements her legacy in avant-garde theatre and political thought.
